Carlesimo Interviews With T-Wolves

San Antonio Spurs assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo sat down for an interview in San Antonio with Minnesota Timberwolves representatives on Friday regarding the T-Wolves head coaching vacancy.

A source close to the team said that the Wolves possibly could offer Carlesimo the position this weekend. But that could not be confirmed.

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor, declined to comment on the interview.

T-Wolves Interview MSU's Tom Izzo

A source has told the Pioneer Press that Glen Taylor and Kevin McHale of the Timberwolves recently flew to Grand Rapids, Mich., to interview Michigan State's Tom Izzo about the Wolves' coaching vacancy.

Izzo, who likely would cost the Wolves' $4 million a year, is expected to remain with the Spartans unless the Detroit Pistons job becomes available, which is becoming a possibility with the Larry Brown to Cleveland rumors that have been circulating.

Talks Of A Nowitzki Deal Blowing In The Wind

Steve Nash was let go by the Mavericks after last season's disappointing end and now there are rumors floating about in regards to a Dirk Nowitzki trade this off-season.

So where could the Mavericks potentially deal Dirk Nowitzki according to Sam Smith?

One possibility is a Garnett, Cassell and Sprewell deal while also making the Mavs take Troy Hudson and his long contract for Nowitzki, Terry, promising rookie Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse and perhaps a throw-in or two like rookie Pavel Podkolzin and a No. 1 draft pick?

A Garnett for Nowitzki type deal might work, however, it could lead to a revolt in Minnesota.
