Minor League WiretapLarry Brown Declines Colorado Job
Gary Hunter, Broomfield Sports president and CEO, said Wednesday that he offered the expansion team's head coaching job to Brown this week. While Brown sounded intrigued, Hunter said he turned down the opportunity. "Ninety percent of the conversation was about mutual friends and family," Hunter said. "He just indicated that he thought it would be a good opportunity for two reasons. He loves Colorado and he loves to develop basketball players." Brown was fired in June by the New York Knicks a year after signing a $50 million contract. "Under the circumstances, he decided he better spend some more time with his family before deciding about his future," Hunter said. "He said money is no object."
