"After consulting with an ankle specialist in Los Angeles on Monday,(Ray)Allen still is mulling his options, which include undergoing surgery — a scenario that generally includes four to six weeks of recovery — or opting for an arthroscopic procedure that normally requires 2-3 weeks of rehabilitation.

Sonics guard Ray Allen met with an orthopedist in Los Angeles yesterday to discuss options for his injured right ankle. Although results weren't conclusive, general manager Rick Sund said the ankle could require surgery.
"It's a situation where he met with the doctors, and now he's going to talk to some of his advisers," Sund said. "Surgery is an option. If he elects to go the surgery route, it would be Friday or Saturday."
