The Seattle Sonics have requested waivers on Rick Brunson.

Brunson averaged 2.5 points and 0.5 assists in four games this season with the Sonics.

Russell And Sonics Discuss Buyout

Bryon Russell, a 13-year veteran coming off a knee injury in the preseason, is still in talks with the Sonics about his status.

"He was the consummate professional. I talked to him on the phone and told him, 'Hey, to get the deal done, you had to be in the deal. I don't want you to catch a flight and fly to Seattle if it's not a good situation for you,' " general manager Rick Sund said.

Swift Set To Return On Tuesday

Sonicscentral.com has learned that Robert Swift is expected to return to practice tomorrow and be available to play in Seattle’s next game on Tuesday.

Swift has missed the last 4 games with a broken nose. He underwent successful surgery and was fitted with a protective mask over the weekend.
