The Renton Sonics?

On Tuesday Sonics executives met with officials from the town of Renton, Washington to discuss the possibility of moving the team south to a brand new arena off Interstate 405 -- marking yet another chapter in the political saga surrounding the team's threat to leave Seattle unless it gets a better lease and a $220 million KeyArena renovation.

"If they are going to leave the city, we want them to know that there's an opportunity here for them to consider," said Alexander Pietsch, Renton's economic development administrator, who requested the meeting with developers and Sonics President Wally Walker and Vice President Terry McLaughlin.

Fortson 'Would Love' To Be Traded

According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, rugged Sonic forward Danny Fortson officially wants out, hoping for a fresh start with a playoff-caliber team as he tries to revive his career.

"Yes. I would love to get a trade, definitely," he said as the players headed to their offseason locales. "It would be the best for both parties. They know my history and they know if I come back up here and don't play a certain amount, then it's not going to work out for anybody involved. If you want to say a public plea, then that's what you can call it."

Allen Breaks NBA Season Record For 3-Pointers

Ray Allen broke the NBA record for 3-pointers in a season on Wednesday night in the second quarter of the Seattle SuperSonics' regular-season finale against the Denver Nuggets, the Associated Press is reporting.

Allen gave Seattle a 48-28 lead with his sixth 3-pointer of the game with 6:30 left, his 268th of the season. He broke the previous mark of 267 set by Dennis Scott in the 1995-96 season.

Allen sank five 3-pointers in the first quarter.

After Allen broke the league record, the game was stopped and referee Jack Nies presented him with the ball. The crowd wildly cheered Allen.
