Jent To Interview For Magic Position

Chris Jent is set to formally interview for the Orlando Magic head coaching position, which he filled for the fired Johnny Davis during the final weeks of the season.

"I love to walk in John's office and have him say, 'You are the head coach of the Magic,' but I just don't see that happening," Jent said. "I think they will take their time."

The Magic were 5-13 under Jent, who could not turnaround the slide that Orlando was on during the final months of the Davis era.

Christie Sees Difficulty In Playing For Magic Next Season

After having surgery two weeks ago to remove bone spurs and fragments, Doug Christie stressed that it would be “extremely difficult” to return to play for the Magic next season.

Magic general manager John Weisbrod is now planning on flying to Seattle to meet with Dough Christie and discuss his latest comments.

"I think I understand the kid well enough to know why he is feeling this way," Weisbrod said. "He was in a situation in Sacramento where everything was positive and it was an adjustment for him to come here. To see the way he's been depicted at times I'm sure is upsetting to him. The communication breakdown is that he thinks the organization, or me personally, play a role in how he's depicted."

Bulls Squeak Past The Magic By 40

Rookies Ben Gordon and Andres Nocioni each scored 17 points to lead Chicago to a 117-77 victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday night as the Bulls had their largest victory margin of the season.

"I don't think it was bothering us, to tell you the truth. Not to down play the situation, but I felt like everybody was playing for him, regardless, and I think everybody will continue to do that, especially myself," Tyson Chandler said.

"I just think it was about us being mature enough and coming out realizing how important this game was," said Antonio Davis. "We have to establish our momentum. We have another one (Atlanta) tomorrow."
