"My knee feels great, and before February, nobody was saying anything about the knee," Webber said yesterday in a phone interview from his native Detroit, where he was collecting goods and money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. "The knee felt fine." Although Webber won't say it, he wasn't happy with his role in the offense employed by former coach Jim O'Brien. Often used at the high post, the 6-foot-10 245-pounder in effect became a jump-shooter for the Sixers. He shot just 39.1 percent from the field in 21 regular-season games. "Everybody says that I don't want to play in the low post, but that's not true," said Webber, who is getting ready for his 13th NBA season.
