Sixers Announce Henderson To Utah Deal

Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the Sixers have traded forward Alan Henderson to the Utah Jazz for the rights to exchange second round draft picks in the 2007 NBA Draft. In addition the Jazz will receive cash considerations from the Sixers.

"This move gives us increased flexibility and provides us with additional options on draft day," said King.

The Jazz are expected to waive Henderson.

A 6-foot-9 forward, Henderson has averaged 7.9 points and 5.0 rebounds in 648 career games (220 starts) with four teams: Atlanta (1995-2004), Dallas (2004-05), Cleveland (2005-06) and Philadelphia (2006-07). Playing in his 12th NBA season, Henderson is averaging 3.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in 34 games (5 starts).

Jazz Trade For Henderson, Expected To Waive Veteran

The Utah Jazz acquired veteran forward Alan Henderson from Philadelphia in exchange for a swap of second-round draft picks, and cash consideration going from Philadelphia to Utah.

Utah is expected to waive Henderson, so the move will have no bearing on their current roster. The trade will lead to the Jazz having a better second-round pick, though details on the second-round picks involved were not immediately available.

Milicic Joins Larry Brown Bashers

Orlando's Darko Milicic, who played his first two NBA seasons under Larry Brown in Detroit, blames the former Knick coach for stalling his development and hamstringing his career.

"I thought he did. I was supposed to get a chance in Detroit, but I didn't," Milicic, the 7-foot center who came to Orlando along with Carlos Arroyo in a trade last February, said last night. "He was supposed to give me a chance to see what I could do, but he didn't. All I was expecting was a chance if nothing else, but it didn't happen and now I'm here and I'm happy."
