Nocioni Could Be Dealt To Boston In Three-Way

Sources told ESPN.com that the Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, in discussing a Samuel Dalembert-for-Kenny Thomas swap, have discussed expanding that concept with Boston by trying to draw in the Celtics on a potential three-way deal that would finally land Andres Nocioni in Boston.

Discussions are reportedly ongoing and they have a long ways to go before being completed.

Sacramento would send Nocioni to Boston, Kenny Thomas, Tony Allen and Brian Scalabrine to Philadelphia and Dalembert and J.R. Giddens to Sacramento.

Brand Doesn't Practice With First Team

76ers forward Elton Brand practiced with the team's second unit on Monday.

Philadelphia has been forced to undergo some lineup changes with second-year forward Marreese Speights out with a knee injury.

Jason Smith was running with the first team, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"We went through a normal practice today and we always change our lineups in practice. Certainly [Jason] Smith will get more time at center. Elton will get some time at center and Primoz will be activated so we think we're pretty well covered," coach Eddie Jordan said of the practice rotation.

Jordan added that Brand was playing center with the second unit and smiled when asked about lineup changes heading into Wednesday's game against the Bobcats.

76ers Will Look At Options To Replace Speights

The 76ers will be without emerging forward Marreese Speights for up to two months.

Speights suffered a partial tear of the MCL in his left knee on Saturday night, leaving Philadelphia's roster thin.

"We're looking at lists of potential players and options," general manager Ed Stefanski said. "I wouldn't see us making a quick move. We'll see how it goes. You never want to see a kid get hurt, but this presents an opportunity for someone to step up or someone to get extra time."

For the time being, the team's rotation will likely change.

"We'll have to look at some things," Stefanski added. "Does it mean added minutes for Jason Smith? Does Thad [Young] play more big-man [minutes]? So far it's been a process for Elton, and I think he's been getting better. Maybe this is a chance for more minutes for him."
