Suns Trade Archibald to Orlando

PHOENIX (AP) Forward Robert Archibald was traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Orlando Magic on Friday for a conditional 2005 second-round draft pick, the second deal between the teams in three days.

The 6-foot-11 Archibald, who was acquired from Memphis on Sept. 30, appeared in only one game for the Suns, scoring one point.

On Tuesday, Phoenix acquired forward Donnell Harvey from Orlando for a second-round draft pick next year.

Magic acquire Archibald; waive Williams

The Orlando Magic and Phoenix have made their second trade is less than two weeks, acquiring forward Robert Archibald for a 2005 conditional second-round pick.

To make room on the roster for Archibald, the Magic waived forward Monty Williams, who they acquired on Tuesday in a swap of second-round picks with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Ironically, RealGM first reported on Sunday that Archibald would be included in the earlier deal deal between the two teams that sent Donnell Harvey to Phoenix for a 2004 second-round pick.

Orlando used a $1.4 Disabled Players' Exception that they received for injured forward Pat Garrity to acquire Archibald.

Harvey deal made without Archibald

The Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns have finally completed their rumored trade but without forward Robert Archibald. Instead, the deal only sends a second-round pick to the Magic for Harvey. To make room on the roster for Harvey, the Suns placed Archibald on the injured list with the flu. Harvey is expected to be in uniform for the Suns' game tonight at Seattle.
