James and Marion Named NBA Players of the Week

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James and the Phoenix Suns’ Shawn Marion were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, November 22 through Sunday, November 28.

James led the Cavaliers to a perfect 3-0 week, averaging 29.7 points (2nd in the NBA) on .673 shooting, 6.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.33 steals in wins over Detroit, Boston and Chicago. James posted a career-high 43 points on 15-of-22 shooting and 11-of-12 from the line the win over Detroit.

Marion led the Suns to a perfect 3-0 week, averaging 25.7 points, 14.3 rebounds (Tied for 1st in the NBA), 2.0 assists and 1.67 blocks in wins over Chicago, Milwaukee and New Orleans. Marion has a streak of five consecutive games of a double-double including nine of his last ten.

Redd And The Bucks Nearly Take Down Phoenix

Michael Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks bounced back on Wednesday night and gave the red hot Phoenix Suns a good run.

Redd scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Bucks began a 15-3 run late in the third quarter and pulled to 91-88 in the fourth after a three-point play by Redd, a 3-pointer by Mike James and layups by Mason and Smith in quick succession.

Nash had six assists and eight points in the 4th quarter, to fight off the Bucks rally, winning 111-104.

Three Suns In The Top 10 Of RealGM's Player Rankings

The Phoenix Suns are off to a blazing 9-2 start, winning their last five games.

On Monday night they dominated the Bulls, winning by a final score of 100-82.

It should come as little surprise that three Suns players are in the top 10 of RealGM's Player Rankings.

Amare Stoudemire is ranked number 4, averaging 28 points and 9 rebounds per game. Shawn Marion is number 7, with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Steve Nash is ranked number 9, with 16 points and 11 assists per game.

Remaining at the top two positions are Kevin Garnett and Lebron James.
