Giricek Expected To Joins Suns

The Phoenix Suns may have lost out on Brent Barry, but they still hope to land Gordan Giricek, according to the Arizona Central.

Report: Barry Will Stick With Spurs

Brent Barry will wait out the 30 days and then will stick with San Antonio, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.

According to the report, Barry let Phoenix GM Steve Kerr know of his decision on Thursday evening. The Suns had offered the veteran guard a multi-year contract and playing time, but in the end Barry's family already being settled in the San Antonio area was the decisive factor.

"He let us know he’s staying where he is and won’t be joining us," Kerr said. "We still have a few days to pursue some other avenues and possibly still add to our roster, but that remains to be seen."

Giricek May Get Buyout Wish

The Sixers appear to be willing to grant the request of Croatian guard Gordan Giricek and buy out the remainder of his contract, allowing him to become a free agent, the Philadelphia Daily News is reporting.

According to a source, Giricek's most likely destination is Phoenix, depending on what happens with Brent Barry.
