Van Exel Unsure Of His Future

Portland TrailBlazers guard Nick Van Exel is unsure about his future with the team but is not contemplating retirement anymore.

"I have to see what Portland is going to do. They still have my rights," Van Exel said. "Hopefully, they will do what's for the best. We'll see what happens with that."

When asked if he could see himself in Portland next season, Van Exel said: "I don't doubt it. They still have a lot of talent. They just need a coach so the young guys can understand what it is about winning."

Van Exel is entering the final year of his contract at $12.8 million.

It is possible that he could get traded to a team who wants his expiring contract orpossibily get bought out after he is traded so he can sign with a contender.
