Reggie Theus, who the Kings fired earlier this season, took the time to sit down with the Sacramento Bee and discuss the current status of the team recently.
"Obviously, with the record, and the way things were done, it wasn't my coaching," Theus said of his firing on Dec. 14. "The team we had wasn't healthy. The thing I don't understand is that Geoff (Petrie) said I wouldn't be evaluated until the team was healthy. How do you justify that? That was tough. I don't think I got a fair shot."
Theus also weighed in on the deals the Kings made prior to Thursday's trade deadline.
"I think the moves were very confusing for the guys, but I think they were necessary given the economic stress the team has been under. If you can save $26 million and stay under the cap so you can make other moves down the road, I think that's good. Obviously, I hope there's an overall game plan. I think Geoff (Petrie) finally decided that the team wasn't what he thought it was."

As expected, the Sacramento Kings waived Mikki Moore as part of their busy trade deadline day on Thursday, Sam Amick of the Sacramento Bee is reporting.
Moore had only $2 million guaranteed of his $6.2 million salary for next season if he was cut by June 20.
"I'm kind of glad that I'm leaving Sacramento because I thought that I was going to make a home here," Moore said by phone. "Especially after having a good season in New Jersey, I thought that they wanted me and needed me here. So I was looking forward to retiring here, but it just didn't work out that way."

On Thursday morning, hours before the trade deadline came and went without Nate Robinson being dealt away, Alan Hahn asked Robinson if he hopes to be a Knick after the deadline passed. "Hopefully, a Knick for life," Robinson responded.
Donnie Walsh denied an ESPN rumor that a trade sending Robinson and Jared Jeffries to Sacramento was close to coming to fruition. Walsh called the rumor "absolutely bogus."
