Glover averaged 10.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 55 games with Atlanta. The Hawks waived him on Feb. 25, after he asked to be released. Glover considered signing with Toronto as a free agent last summer. ``They are trying to make the playoffs, and I've never had the chance at the playoffs in Atlanta,'' Glover said. Toronto is in danger of falling out of the playoff race after losing Vince Carter, Jalen Rose and Alvin Williams to injuries. Carter is expected to miss at least one more game because of a sprained left ankle, Rose is out at least a month with four broken bones in his left hand and Williams was placed on the injured list on Saturday after undergoing surgery to relieve inflammation in his right knee on Friday. ``They need somebody to play defense and somebody to make offensive plays until they get back,'' Glover said. Glover, a 6-foot-5 guard from Georgia Tech, was the Hawks' No. 1 draft pick in 1999, 20th overall. In five seasons, he averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 273 games with 101 starts. ``Obviously, with Vince and Jalen and Alvin out I guess the thinking was to add some scoring,'' Toronto coach Kevin O'Neill said. ``He's not going to know any plays, but hopefully he'll give us a bit of scoring.'' The Raptors also waived forward Lonny Baxter, who was acquired from Chicago in a six-player trade Dec. 1. The 6-7 Baxter averaged 4.2 points 3.4 rebounds in 36 games with Toronto.
