Arenas' 43 Overshadowed By Bibby's 38 And A Sacramento Win

Two of the league's best point guards battled things out in the points column and while Gilbert Arenas scored 43 and Mike Bibby scored 38, Bibby's Kings won their second consecutive game by just 2 points, beating the Wizards 110-108.

The Wizards got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Kwame Brown, but was bested by Brad Miller's 12 points and 10 rebounds of his own. Steve Blake chipped in 17 in 34 minutes.

The Sacramento win came just one day after an emotional two-point victory in Philadelphia versus former King Chris Webber.

Wizards Activate Hughes And Brown

Washington Wizards President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has activated forward/center Kwame Brown and guard Larry Hughes. In addition, the team placed guard Juan Dixon (right ankle sprain) and center Peter John Ramos (right plantar fasciitis) on the injured list.

Brown has played in 14 games this season, averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds on 50.8 percent shooting from the field. The fourth-year pro has had two different stints on the injured list this season, missing the first 12 games with a broken bone in his right foot and another 26 contests with a right ankle tendon strain and a posterior right ankle impingement.

Hughes sustained a fractured right thumb against Phoenix (1/15) and missed the Wizards’ next 17 games. He is the lone player in the NBA to average 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals per game. Hughes is leading the league with 2.82 steals per game.

Dixon played in 46 games with three starts prior to sustaining a right ankle sprain at Houston (2/15). In his third season, Dixon is averaging 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and two rebounds in 16.9 minutes per contest.

Ramos has appeared in four games in his rookie campaign and has averaged 1.5 points and one rebound per contest.

Washington (30-22) will host the Memphis Grizzlies (30-23) tonight at 7 p.m. at MCI Center.

Juan Dixon Out For 2-3 Weeks

Wizards guard Juan Dixon will be out for 2-3 weeks after spraining his right ankle Tuesday versus the Houston Rockets last Tuesday.

Dixon is averaging 8.8 points and 2 assists in 46 games this season.
