Series 2: Home Opener: Phillies @ Marlins

Post#1 » by Lane1974 » Fri Apr 6, 2007 2:14 pm

Sergio Mitre vs. "Crafty Lefthander" Jamie Moyer (there is no such thing as a crafty righthander in MLB)

Phillies were swept at home by Atlanta to open the season.

Phillies probable lineup

1. Jimmy Rollins - SS
2. Shane Victorino - RF
3. Ryan Howard - 1B
4. Chase Utley - 2B
5. Pat Burrell - LF
6. Wes Helms - 3B
7. Aaron Rowand - CF
8. Rod Barajas - C
9. Jamie Moyer - P

Marlins probable lineup

1. Hanley Ramirez - SS
2. Dan Uggla - 2B
3. Miguel Cabrera - 3B
4. Josh Willingham - LF
5. Mike Jacobs - 1B
6. Cody Ross - RF
7. Miguel Olivo - C
8. Alejandro De Aza - CF
9. Sergio Mitre - P

will be a lot tougher to get outs against the Phillies hitters than it was against the Nats

I love baseball season, and I honestly love this Marlins team almost as much as the 03 team that won it all.

The novelty is fading just as I thought.

As for the game, what a disaster defensive-wise.

Im watching the game via Phillies telecast.

Willingham is beasting-- a single away from THE CYCLE. It would be the first cycle in marlins history.

Cool. :)

I hope we get to see Ross get the start in RF, instead of Borchard.

Willingham was a late scratch due to a bad back, and Han Ram left after hurting his hamstring running out a grounder in the 1st..

right now we are up 5-3 in the 7th
will be interesting to see if Fredi throws Julio in there in the 9th if this score holds up

we should have a good chance at winning the Milwaukee series that starts tomorrow too

our offense has really done well so far this season, let's hope Hanley and Willingham are ok, those are potentially big losses if they are out for awhile (Hanley's didn't look good)

Gardner saves the day (pun intended)

Bases loaded, 1 out...

Popout to catcher... 2 outs
Strikeout looking... 3 outs

who gets shipped out when Tank comes back? Gardner is the guy who you'd have said goes down
it won't be Julio, he makes too much
unless they disable someone
