Anyone else having a hard time getting pumped for this season?

With the back to back World Series losses, hard to get excited for these 162 games

I'm enjoying it. Gotta just view it from the perspective that it is (or at least should be) the young guy's team and watch for their development, their personalities, and hope they snatch the reigns from the older guys.

With Puig gone and Kershaw being less of himself (hopefully meaning we will rely on him less because he is a choke and because he doesn't have that fastball anymore), I am fully enjoying watching Buehler and Verdugo carve out careers for themselves. Cody's hot start doesn't hurt. Neither does Seager beginning to heat up...and neither does Max Muncy putting Mad Bum's garbage in McCovey Cove yesterday.

Verdugo is fun.
Buehler yelling at that hitter from Arizona to sit the eff down.
Will Smith coming up and popping a couple of homers...hitting a walk off.

This might be my favorite Dodger team since Guggenheim took over in 2012.

Every day is fun AF imo.

Now Seager is hurt....

Again.
He is beginning to become an injury prone player.

Even the offseason weight loss didn’t prevent it.

Watching Verdugo on that first to home.
The "experts" said he was slow.

LMFAO.

So glad we never traded this kid.

Can we finally call the Mets and go get Jacob deGrom?

The stuff is still there.
Clutch playoff performer.
We need this man.

We don't get much traffic here but I want to state a few things about this team:

1) How can you not be in to this team? This is literally the most fun team we've had this decade. So young, all moving in one direction....so much personality....and no garbage hanging over the team like Puig stuff. Belly's MVP run. Ryu's Cy Young run. Walker Buehler coming of age....Alex Verdugo.

2) I was right about Austin Barnes. He is a back up - not a starter. We started him in the postseason more out of frustration with Grandal than how good he actually was. We should be moving on from Barnes and transitioning our catcher duties to a split between Russell Martin and Will Smith. Barring some unforseen barrage by Barnes, we should be looking to be free of him by 2020 because he literally hasn't hit since the 2017 Division Series against the Diamondbacks.

3) Trade Peyton Kershaw. He doesn't have the stuff anymore. Why are we waiting? He is a playoff liability with limited stuff. It's not like he added a pitch to help transition from being a power pitcher. He's just throwing his curve and his slider (which I've said, when his slider is up in the zone, it's more of a cutter) way more. Woopty Doo.

4) Trade FOR Jacob deGrom....PLEASE.

5) Transition Julio back into the rotation at some point, please.

Since the Kawhi news broke Laker hearts... massive earthquake and no Dodger wins. Coincidence? I think not.

Looks at the standings...
Dodgers are rolling. I like this team. Nice combination of skill and Swagger...
It's weird how fast we went from a Pitching dominated team that needed bats, to a slugging juggernaut that might need some pitching to win it all...

Talk to me about Kawhi after Christmas, after he's either A) Injured, or B) No longer talking to PG... It's great you got both those guys with similar skill sets.... You'll need the injury depth.

Like I said last year and the year before.

Frustration with Yasmani Grandal does not make Austin Barnes a good player/ hitter.

Much rather have my catcher depth read: Grandal/ Martin/ Smith.
In the event Grandal cant tell his ass from a hole in the wall in the postseason (as has happened and you would expect to happen again), Martin AND Smith are the people I'd want to come back him up and get the reps....

Not a nobody like Austin Barnes where most of his acclaim and popularity is just being the back up QB.

Rich Hill is making 18 million dollars this year.
Thank God this is the last year of his deal.

He wont be throwing off of a mound for another 3 weeks. This essentiallyp uts any return he may have out into September.
I cant see him making the postseason roster.

Russell Martin closing out blowout games as a pitcher is the coolest thing ever.
