"The New York Mets have reached agreement with Curtis Granderson on a four-year, $60 million deal, according to a person with direct knowledge of the agreement."
..."Granderson, who turns 33 in March, gives the Mets outfield a significant boost after a mostly punchless 2013. Mets left fielders produced a .243 average and meager .701 on-base plus slugging, while their center fielders batted .222 with a .615 OPS.
In four seasons with the New York Yankees, Granderson averaged 37 home runs and 98 RBI per 162 games, though his batting average dipped from a high of .262 in 2011 to .232 and .229 the next two seasons.
At the more spacious Citi Field, Granderson figures to hit for less power than he did across town at Yankee Stadium, which features a short right field porch. He'll join fellow free agent Chris Young and defensive standout Juan Lagares in the Mets' revamped alignment."
Very happy. We need a shortstop now.

Re: Curtis Granderson joining Mets
Granderson picked up some bad habits trying too much to jack everything over the short porch in right at Yankee stadium. If he can go back to trying to hit the ball where it's thrown his average should go up. Good signing. He's also a real classy guy and does a lot for the community so the Mets are getting a plus here as well.
