Duvall is meh, but it sucks to lose Mella considering we don't have much of a system anyway.

We needed SOMEBODY though.

Hopefully Leake and Peavy keep up their hot streaks of late. That should carry us til Cain finds his stride again. Losing Timmy right when he was heating up was depressing but I think Leake fits the locker room and staff well.

I don't know how you can say we don't have much in the system. We have pitchers with high production or upside at virtually every level. Stratton, Beede, Johnson, Crick (although he's laying turds all season) just off the top of my head with Bickford who we just drafted as a high upside guy. Mejia had mechanical concerns pertaining to his delivery that led the organization to believe he was a TJ candidate. Considering the quality of pitcher we got in return, we gave up the equivalent of a bag of balls, a spittoon, and a can of copenhagen.
