No clue, I hope he's on a low carb diet and focusing on cardio, maybe train with that famous Slovenian cyclist.

This was a tough call Luka was clearly top 2 guard with Steph this year, but winning plays a role and Luka missed the PO, Booker being inelligble due to missed games helped him a lot.

What has Luka bee doing the last few weeks?

He was here, https://www.squareclub.si/, last week. :D

NT preparations will save Mavs.

He's 23 or 24, the biggest star in his country and has at least tens of millions in the bank.

Best thing for his immediate basketball career is if he knocked up someone, fell in love and the wife is a nag and keeps him on a tight leash so he's got nothing else to do but train and focus all offseason on hoops. :D

My advice to Luka is following Lebron's footsteps instead of Carmelo Anthony or Kevin Durant. Strategic career steps would help Luka to win 3+ titles, make 3x more money, and get much more recognition. Luka would understand this that way: Its a comparison of playing for Real Madrid vs Ath. Bilbao. Even if you contributed to R.Madrid's Champions League title, it still counts for you and people to recognize.

KD thing is a recent bad example. I am not going to blame KD for his Thunder years. I think he made the right decision for himself to go to GSW. KD made himself a part of a dynasty, best record team. Then why would he go to Nets? Why would you team up with lunatic Kyrie? And even if you do that, why don't you try to surround yourself with defensive players? Sending J. Allen for Deandre Jordan??

KD signing extension with Nets was so uncalled for. Doing that, KD effectively killed his legacy. If KD was expiring, sign&trade deal, or FA, then he would go to Suns without emptying all the role players. Imagine if they had Miles Bridges.

KD could've opted to sign 1+1. Imagine if KD was a FA in 2022 summer. He could've joined Luka-Mavs. Lets say you dont like it, okay go sign with Celtics next year. Go sign 1+1 with Miami, Denver or whatever. Year 2025 go back to OKC?

After the rookie contract, Lebron always played for the stacked teams that are built exactly for him.
1. He went for Miami with 3 franchise players and loads of key role players. Wade was already a champion...
2. Cavs got three #1 picks in four years with NBA-fixing the draft lottery. As a result Lebron went back to loaded Cavs. Kyrie, Kevin Love and tons of role players.
3. Next stop is Lakers who was in rebuild mode for 5 years. NBA gifted Pelicans a new franchise player in Zion, and the Lakers got very very lucky with #3 pick. This fixing allowed Davis trade happen. A lot of ring chasers etc got cut from their teams without Lakers spending much trade assets.

LA generates tons of money for Lebron, he has his house, and NBA refs are good with him to pad his back every other year. Otherwise, he'd keep signing 1+1 and escape to some other stacked team.

So Luka should take notes. Look at Mavs roster, assets. Look at your competition. Mavs are far from getting top 4 seed, then becoming a top contender. KD wasted his years with 3 years younger Kyrie. Does Luka wants to waste years? It is probably time to ask for a trade. Then 3 years later, he should probably go for FA if his new team is not stacked. People dont care much about Wiggins winning the title or Lebron joining to asset-stacked teams.

Look at Jokic this year. For once, he has a competent roster. I mean he had a reason to stay in Denver. Their front office did solid moves, the injury luck was the bad part. Does Luka have anything to be hopeful of?

After 2011 championship year, Cuban let Tyson Chandler go for nothing. Tyson won DPOY later, made Knicks #2 seed the other year. Anyway huge **** of Cuban. Then Dirk staying at Dallas did not help him nor Mavs as a franchise. 2015-16 season with D.Powell-Mcgee and Dirk. What is it good for? 2013-14 season with Calderon-Dirk-Dalembert...

Luka staying here more years, will make Mavs lose more long-term assets before eventual break-up. Hope his agent or Jordan brand will think about his legacy.

Carmelo followed no training regime, and relied on his natural basketball skills and big frame. He was toe to toe in his rookie year and next couple of years with Lebron. Melo was a phenomenal scorer but he was never as good as Lebron/Luka in terms of dribble penetration and Melo never had playmaking skills. Melo performed worse than Lebron for his 2nd and 3rd contract. And his age 30+ did not go well at all. All those years of not taking care of his body showed up.

Another thing for Melo was him being dumb in terms of trades and FA. If he didn't force a trade to NYK, he could've signed with them that summer. Worrying about lock-out never made sense for top player like him. He'd always get max money. Poor choice to let Knicks trade all young assets, picks away. He never had chance to compete with Knicks due to that dumb trade.

I understand Luka is not motivated when the team is trash.
I know Luka is used to play for Real Madrid, not the Deportivo La Coruna.
But in any case he must take care of his body more. If the motivation is needed then ask for a trade and go to Knicks. Luka would need that kind of media and fans to get motivation. Dont be Melo and only go after easy pay checks.

Which one? Primoz Roglic and Tadej Pogacar are two of the top 10 (5?) cyclists on the planet and are both Slovenian. You’re prob talking about Pogacar, he’s done a little more lately. Funny that they both and Luka kinda came out of nowhere the last few years. What’s in the water in Slovenia. Roglic was a ski jumper till an horrific crash scared him off into cycling and he became a world-class cyclist in just a few years.
When someone says, "to make a long story short", it's usually too late.

I am not sure if anyone mentioned already, but the latest news from Slovenian camp are: Luka isn't fat at all (for real - look at those photos!) and he train like a crazy.

Pogačar is actually #1 for the last few years, Roglič is #5 and Mohorič #45

Best year was 2020 with Roglič #1 and Pogačar #2.
Did you know that Tour de France, who just started today, is the 3rd biggest sports event on the world?
It's somewhat surreal :)

Congrats to Luka his fiancee
I've listened to Thinking Basketball podcast top 10 players, they had Luka at #7, behind Davis, KD and Embiid, and Zach Lowe had him as top 10, Lowe has anti Mavs bias because they traded for Kai.
Missing the yearly PO sorcery has made people forget who Luka Doncic is, hopefully he reminds them this year.
