US went 1-3 after the very easy 1st groups stage, win against Italy, weakest team in the top 8 and losses to Lithuania, Germany and Canada, some hard discussion and conclusions should be made after such a disappointing showing...

I remember a time when many on this forum didn't want Dillon Brooks for the MLE, the TMLE or even the vet minimum. Some even said he wasn't even a positive defender. Oh realgm lol.

Would've never thought the national team could reach the highs of Dirks incredible team carrying performances in 2002 and 2005 but this team is deep, fights hard, has 2 creators/scorers and a ton of size, 3pt shooting and interior toughness.

Germany won fair and square,congratulations...they have a really nice team, everybody knows their role and they Play it perfectly

Some good news for team Slovenia....the president of Slovenian basketball federation has finaly called out Luka and his complaining...maybe now everybody stops cuddling him and tells him to stop complaining and whinning all the time...he's only hurting the team and bringing everybody else down with him...concentrate on the Play, let the coaches talk to the refs if they're being unfair

President of Slovenian basketball federation has also said that coaching was great, go figure.

You're very naive, if you believe that Luka will listen to nobody and change his behaviour because of nobody.

The only possible consequence could be Luka saying, **** you and skip next tournament.

Yeah, that part about the coach was weird...I Guess it Just goes to show that it's Luka who actually runs the team ,not the coach...btw,this was obvious when his BFF was choose to go to EuroBasket last year even thought we didn't need a fifth PG,who didn't Play anyway...but it's good People are starting to call him out...even some Slovenian coaches have spoken out about how his behavior, how its bad for the team(there's a great interview with Gašper Okorn...he nailed every Point)...Luka is amazing, but he needs to act more mature...I doubt he's gonna change though...Listen,if he doesn't want to Play for Slovenia cause somebody finaly called him out, then so be it...we won't be conteders with the Players we have anyway, but I'd rather have Players fighting for the team, then this group that complains all the time

Look, if the president, who was elected with political support, calls out far the best player and on the other hand supports very bad coach, who should be the one, who runs Slovenian team and deals with Luka, then something is wrong. KZS is making huge money because of Luka, if he decides not to play, all budget will shrink, which will hit all Slovenian basketball from bottom to top. So believe me, Erjavec will be gone very soon, if Luka says so and you for sure don't want Luka not playing, because that would have huge consequences.

Luka supports the coach, thats's why he is staying...if he wanted him out they'd let him go immediatelly...as for Erjavec,he's not he right man for the presidency... unfourtunately this positions are far too often filled by someone who knows the right People not by the most competent person
Listen,if Luka doesn't change his attitude I really Don't care if he doesn't Play...he's amazing(the Best we ever had) but his on the court attitude is a big problem...he let's the emotions get the Best of him and starts making bad plays...I know the talent level is a big diference from the other Players but basketball isbnot a one Man sport...Just Ask Giannis or Jokic how they've done with Greece and Serbia so far, and they have a he'll of lot better Players then we do

SGA-RJ-Brooks is a hell of backcourt... unfortunately for them they have Dwight Powell and with him it's impossible to win

Hey watch your mouth. That's starting center bronze medalist Dwight Powell you're talking about :P

Fun fact, Powell had 7 rebounds this game vs USA. JJJ for team USA had 7 rebounds TOTAL the last 4 games. That's unworldly awful

JJJ outright sucked. How this guy is supposedly DPOY is beyond me. Powell actually oddly did collect a few clutch rebounds in that bronze medal game.

RS awards are pure trash... 90% of games are scrimmage.

Yeah but even so... 3 blocks all nice and cute but the dude is 6'10 and never averaged more than 6.8 boards and 1.1 steals... that's Dwight Powell levels with elite shotblocking.

Right now yes, a Dwight Powell with elite shotblocking and decent 3 point shot... but he is 23yo with huge room to improve and bigs always have a slow growth.

He does need to improve on the rebounding end, but that does not determine defensive prowess. Myles TUrner is also a poor rebounder for his size, yet a defensive game changer. Both those guys are solid and we'd be lucky if Lively becomes close to either in terms of skill, hopefulyl he won't have their injury history.
