As long as Gaff and Lively dont get in deep foul trouble , Id shorten the rotation.
Luka,Kyrie, Exum with Jones Jr and Green playing backup thats 7 players .

And bring Kleber or Hardaway in only if someone gets hurt .

Dallas needs this game and they can outrun the Clippers if they push the pace on Harden and Zubach.

All teams that want to win are getting down to 7/8 players .Kidd played 9 players last game . He cant keep playing Kleber and THJ hoping they find their stroke.

I'm worried about scoring outside of Luka and Kyrie. Who is going to step up? Washington was at least close to his average of 12.9 with 11, Gafford DJJ and THJ did not get close to theirs. We only got 29 points outside of Luka and Kyrie we need more like 50. It's sad that 7 professional NBA players could only give you 29 points combined.

If Mavs had Jason Terry instead of THJ, this would be easy. But the insane downfall of THJ should be studied.

Gafford will recover and Lively just came back from injury and his mom's passing. I think game 2 is where real playoffs start for Mavs. If i'm wrong, then we can just start preparing for the next season.

Mavs have lost every Game 1 except the Clippers in 2021 since the Championship season, and they lost to the Heat Game 1 in the Finals too, they beat OKC in Game 1 in the WCF. They're 5-4 in Game 2s.

I think that's a promising stat for us since we only had homecourt advantage 1 time post championship against Utah. That was highest seed we've had 4 seed every other series we've had to play without homecourt advantage. I'm hoping next year with this squad and maybe 1 or 2 more upgrades we can finally be a top 3 seed like we used to be with Dirk and have the homecourt advantage in more than one series. It's been awhile.

I dont think any of the teams trying to play small are going to win any series. Meaning Miami ,Phoenix,OKC so I hate seeing Kidd continously go to Kleber. To be fair OKC goes small only because they dont have any backup height behind Holmgren.

Can anyone verify that we're a bad team when we play early games? I seem to recall we usually lose those games but I tried googling it and couldn't find anything on it as far as wins losses or even any article on it.

The reason I ask is they put us in the afternoon game again on Sunday Game 4.

Not a large sample size here, but for the regular season the Mavs played 7 games with start times between 1pm and 5pm (EST). They went 4-3 in those games.

If you don’t count the 1 5pm EST start game then they went 4-2.

All other games started at 7pm EST or later.

The Luka/Kai 1v1 opportunities have come up nil so far. Have to keep pushing the pace and moving the ball.

Would love to see them get in a better rhythm before trying to play hero ball.
