Not bad that Kyrie guy, who we traded for him? Luka and Lively? I hope not DFS and Dinwiddie

Lively changed the game. He and Gafford are a 2 head monster.
PJ needs time, he played good but his shoots didn't fall.

Easy W before the ASG. Well done.

Great W, always especially nice beating SA and Washington, so super happy about these last 2. Hopefully PJ gets his confidence back and starts shooting better, the Mavs will be in great shape if so.

We still have the open roster spot which should be filled by a playmaker, cause Exum has proven time and time again he cant be trusted. He just doesnt have it

What is Luka doing here...
Spoiler:

but if that is a foul... then how come on the next play... there isn't a call for the exact same thing by #33.

Too bad Dinwiddie chose LAL. He fit perfectly to us.

He has more open minutes there (at least 30 per game)... Smart choice.

Hayes could be our target, low risk high reward.

Not a bad choice on Killian Hayes, but I wont put too much trust on him as the third ball handler behind Lukai. Still pretty much rely on Exum. Actually how bad is his current injury?

Probably he will be ok after the ASG... But for how much games? He just missed 20 games...

Yea I think KIllian should be given a try, really cant hurt. Dante is going to come back for what 3 games, then miss another 18. We cant depend on that

Too bad on Dante being too injury prone, otherwise, he is really the perfect 3rd ball handling guard that we need, sound PG skillset with defense, high basketball intelligence and calm. For situation like first quarter in today's game vs SAS, he is the one the can stabilise the team.

Has anyone seen a Hayes rumor linking him to a team?

Micic was the perfect guy, great leadership and exp. Former Euroleague MVP.

Too bad he is not a shining name for NBA front office...

Yea seeing how Dallas gave up a top 2 protected first in the PJ deal, probably could have negotiated to a try for Milic to make the deal a 3 way with OKC, or even 4 way to include the Gafford deal since OKC was already in it

Another bad start, but now that you have solid 48 minutes at the center position, you can count on Luka and Kyrie to eventually "out-talent" these lesser teams. You no longer have to worry about being totally outmatched on the boards or in the paint.

Can John Wall still play backup point guard in 2024?

Have to admit I had zero hope in Hardy going back to summer league. But he showed glimpses the last couple of games. Eager to see how he pans out the next couple of weeks.

I agree. I was also very down on him but the last 10 games, he's turned a corner. For reference he's average 10/2/2 on 52/44//87 shooting splits. In just 16.6 mpg. His defense has noticeably improved too. Still not good but he's definitely trying harder. Kidd has been vocal recently about his improvements too. Great to see as we're gonna need him to continue this if Exum continues to be out.

Exactly this. Spurs is far from a good team but I liked how Mavs showed the difference with the defense starting from 2nd quarter to the 4th quarter.
Spurs scored 32 in a quarter. Then 33 in two quarters!

Luka and Kyrie's offensive value needs at least a decent defense to show for. Kyrie trade made this team 11th in West last year. Sending out wing players was not a smart thing. But since then, FO doing the right moves.

Mavs has lost almost all picks going forward but now we have 2 good centers. PJ Washington may not be as good as A.Gordon but he can fill the hole created after sending DFS away.

Lively-Maxi, Gafford-PJ should work decently for us. I hope J.Kidd would keep using either Green or DJJ for most games because, defense-rebounding-athleticism is more important when you have Luka. Kyrie played excellent this game, even Hardy was pretty good. Some might be due to Spurs matchup, but hey their offensive output finally worked for Mavs due to good D.

Lively-Gafford
PJ-Maxi
DJJ-Green
Kyrie-TJH
Luka-Hardy

I think this is a pretty solid rotation. I dont know if Exum is to come back or if Mavs can sign someone. I'd not mind another guard waiting as backup. Overall, Mavs finally become a basketball team.

Agree.

Luka and Kyrie are god blessed guys... Man, just think that we trade DFS and Dinwiddie for Kyrie is insane.

That trade become better everygame, i've never seen a superstar traded for role players+ 1 FRP...
