Ugly but a dub is a dub. It's 5 in a row which is extremely important in the crowded western conference. Onto the next one

One big positive this season has been Deni Avdija. His previous two seasons he was a good, versatile defender but awful on offense. He was bricking 3s, missing layups and seemed scared to drive in the half court. Now he is attacking the basket all the time, finishing well and shooting 39% from 3. Looks like a different player.

He would have been perfect for you guys  but he wasn't available.

What matters is they got the win, we'll forget about the rest...they lost too many easy games this year...Got to get ready for every opponent, can't take days off

Thanks for giving the game away, that was a horrible performance by the Mavs, Avdija is a steal on that contract.

Strength of schedule doesn't matter for the Mavs

Rough start but we are too good for the wizards... Lively -Gafford-Maxi is an insane C rotation. Insane.

In case you haven't noticed Poole is our tank commander. When we are in danger of getting a win we can count on him to prevent it.

If THJ’s 3 ball is not falling, just bench him as he can’t do anything else, especially on the defensive end

No it's not. Especially when all three are going to be useless in the playoffs and you're stuck with Luka at center.

Why would 2 top 20 centers in the league and a guy who played 35 minutes a night in a WCF run two years ago be useless?

Dallas shot 25% from 3 and won the game. Idgaf what it looked like honestly as long as they won.

Dallas has 5 wins and 15 losses this season when they’ve shot under 35% from 3. The lowest 3pt% of those 5 games before tonight was 30.8% against Portland. Of those wins 2 were against Portland, 1 was against San Antonio, and 1 was against Charolette, the last one was against the Lakers.

Dallas was 0-7 when shooting below 30% for the season before tonight.

I don’t know if the increased size and trades was the difference tonight but tonight was a different type of win for the Mavs.

It is not a good idea to have THJ and Hardy on court together, especially with Irving. That happened at the beginning of 2nd quarter.

I get that you may be a bit upset about the meh return you got for Gaff (late first on a bad draft year + negative contract) but that rotation gives the Mavs a lot of versatily.

I'm aware Wiz fans may not be that familiar with postseason basketball but Maxi is a damn good small ball 5 when healthy, Kleber is one of the most underrated and versatile defender among bigs, he was crucial in our WCF trip just two seasons ago; Lively might struggle a lot in his first postseason experience but who knows, many people questioned his impact in the league too before the season started; Gaff may be just a situational center in the postseason but he's no longer playing next to scrubs PGs and that could help him a lot.

Out of curiosity, weren't you pretty high on Gafford value? Ofc you were when Gaff was still a Wiz, then he got traded and suddenly became a useless PO player

Man, this was a ugly W.

But somehow I liked that. They realized right from the beginning that with the addition of Gafford and Washington they don't win every game with ease just because they have demolished the thunder.
Yes the moves from the trade deadline are a upgrade but we still have so much homework to do. I hope they realize to really stay focused.

Two weeks ago we would've lost with 15+. Not we have a dirty win. Take it.

It's easier to win if you have a DPOY candidate on your team aswell.
