Rays clinch playoff berth, give away 20K tickets

While the national media bashing continues over Rays' attendance issues, the Rays clinched a playoff berth last night behind David Price's 8 inning masterpiece.

Price has won 19 games, and is unlikely to pitch this weekend against the Royals.....denying him the opportunity to become the first overall pick ever to win 20 games.

Meanwhile, Rays ownership is giving away 20K unsold tickets for tonights home finale.

I think this will just add more fuel to the fire about attendance...especially if all of the free tickets are not used.

Nice gesture by the ownership group, but likely an unforgettable mistake if many tickets remain unused.
