Our situational running (risk/reward management) has been quite perfect this year thus far

Chicks dig the big bases. Or something.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

If he's out for 1-2 starts, I wonder whether we'll get Hayden Juenger in a 40-pitch opener role, possibly alongside Pearson. He's being used as a multi-inning guy in Buffalo at the moment, and striking damned near everyone out.

Leafs depressing me as usual but nice to see the jays having solid game. Sucks Bassitt got hurt but hopefully it was an abundance of caution cause of the pitch count.

Iirc wasn't Drew the opening day starter in 2015? Man baseball seasons can get weird.

Belt has hit three balls on a line at 100+ mph. That's a good sign, even if one was straight at the third baseman.

Such a bad luck inning not to score there. Hope Yimi isn't a disaster again today.

Wait a minute, Caleb Joseph is wearing a light purple suit. Is it the same suit Joe Siddall wears? Is it a rule that anyone sitting beside Campbell has to wear a light purple suit? So many questions...

That would be more interesting than Hutchison at least. Doesn't look like Mitch White has entered game action yet.

Uggh, this is over-managing. Three run lead, 2 outs, let Pop finish the inning.

Clearly a great decision to bring Mayza in. Never any risk there at all.

We have some pretty decent tandem options at the very least. Pearson, Juenger, Zulueta, White (once healthy) all profile relatively well in that sort of role, and Pop is efficient enough that he'd make sense as a 2-3 IP guy, as well. Not optimal if someone gets injured longer-term, but I'd have more faith in the variety pack than your average AAAA starter for a month or two.

The Twins own the Yankees this year (thanks, Carlos), which is great. The Twins used to be a free win for them in the past.

I HATE the fact that the team feels it owes Jordan each and every save opportunity. The White Sox are not the Yankees. We can rest him. He shouldn’t be territorial about it.

Not cutting to commercial for Romano's entrance was a good production decision.

Sheesh. And the drama! The new homer jacket.

Do they also have walk off music for when he blows it and they follow him with a camera into the dugout…?

This is all marketing. Not necessarily a baseball decision.

There was a good five minutes there when Andrew Miller was dominating that everyone remembered that saves are dumb and the important thing was to use your best reliever in the most important spots, and then everyone went back to closer absolutism again.

That said, in this specific spot, I can see wanting to give Romero a bounceback in as low-leverage as a save situation gets. He hasn't been worked too hard of late.
