He’ll follow what the analytics department instruct him to do.

The decisions our managers have been making go against a whole bunch of “analytics”. That’s why we generally complain about them. They don’t make sense. Yet you keep saying the analytics department is making the in game decisions. Which analytics do you think they are using?

If the analytics department is making the decisions, then they should have just kept Montoyo then. I guess the Analytics Department was telling Montoyo to bench Kirk 2-3 times a week for several weeks, and telling Schneider to have Matt Chapman as the lead off hitter. Schneider and Montoyo have both made moves throughout the year that was opposite of "Great Analytics".

Just wondering if anyone else thinks he’s more valuable to the team at 2nd if the bad throws and errors continue

The thing that really stands out to me this season, is that I so rarely see Bo dive for the ball. Lots of run and misses, some run and catches, but even when it's bouncing into the shallow outfield (and the CF/LF is handling it) I don't often see him put his body on the ground to try to catch it or keep it in the infield.

Not sure if that's something that the coaches are telling him, or if there's something else, but it's really stood out to me.

You're not wrong. He should be diving or sliding to knock the ball down, get behind the ball and into better throwing position. Instead he prefers the flashier play of reaching and throwing off-balance sidearm on the run.

Also, the choices they make are markedly different. Montoyo repeatedly benched Kirk, which is bad. Schneider doesn't. Schneider hits-and-runs in some weird spots (though not as often lately as he did in his first couple weeks). Montoyo didn't. Schneider, until the past few games, had a very old-school closer usage that resulted in Romero sitting on his hands days on end. Montoyo didn't.

Broadly speaking, Schneider's lineup-setting is fine. Not perfect, but he mostly gets the right players into the lineup, which is more important than having the wrong players in the right order. But his reliever preferences are still quite weird, though there are some recent signs of rationalizing it.

Great start! Even a nice low pitch count for Gausman after 2 innings considering we used 5 relievers yesterday. We need him to go deep!

I don't like Richards in a 2-run game.
