If Houston loses, we will gain half a game and be 2 back. If Houston wins, we will be 3 back. Best bet is Texas continuing to slide, and you have 4 games against Texas coming up in two weeks at home. Nationals have been playing well of late, and without possibly both Bichette and Chapman a Sweep is no guarantee. People thought the Jays would sweep or win 2 out of 3 against a terrible Indians team, and that did not happen.

Nationals are far from a pushover. They are not the A's or Royals. In fact they have one of the best records since the All-Star break at 10 games over .500

I wouldnt be surprised if we drop 2 of 3 against them, just like the Guardians.

hope espinal getting benched in favour of clement is indicative of where management is at with espinal in terms of his performance, and even better, holding him accountable for his continued stupidity on the field, though i'm not holding my breath on that one.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Most of the playoff teams have high OPS with runners in scoring position. Jays are 25th. Improve that somehow, and many problems go away.

So basically, "stop choking". Easier said than done! :P

Are you a prophet?

Tripa is about to embarrass himself again with his predictions.

For the record, Houston crushed Boston 13-5.

Let Chapman walk in offseason and give Davis Schneider at bats at 2B/3B

Merrifield is the big question

I think Merrified gets a big contract somewhere else. You sign him and youre getting a relatively healthy vet that can play 2nd base and anywhere in the outfield. Sign me the **** up.

I think the Jays front office probably gets cleaned out in the offseason and a soft rebuild starts so Merrifield doesnt really fit that timeline. We’ll see, though.

Chapman can be replaced for cheap from within our own org, so you do that instead of paying him.

Let Belt walk and keep the DH spot open until the team’s direction is determined, imo.
