Vlad has no power anymore or what. He stared at one in coors field that didn't go out and then now he thinks he got one that ends up being a routine fly ball.

Meanwhile Kevin Smith flicks his bat at one and it carries out.

That last WC spot is going to come down to which team sucks less between the Jays and Rangers. Could go either way.

Compared to the pitchers the Jays have been facing for the past week, Mason Miller is effectively prime Pedro Martinez. They won't be making contact for the rest of the game.

Springer and Vladdy going 0-7. Just not going to cut it folks! These are your best players.

We need Bo to get back quickly.

If only Vlad had the raw power of Davis Schneider.

The fact the rest of the team hasn’t grown silly moustaches yet is baffling.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Schneider is now 7th on the team in WAR (1.9, having passed Springer) and just 0.3 behind Whit for 3rd on the team.

He's played 20 games.

Equal parts impressed by his run and embarrassed he's passed so many of our so called core guys in under 20 games.

He’s been hitting well for the past month.

exactly. jesus christ its getting pretty toxic in here lmao

i love it.

chemistry is an issue with the hitters this year. could it be because too many of the "culture" hitters were shipped out? did hitting coaches change this season?

something seems off for sure.

Imagine facing the Guardians, Nationals, Rockies, and A's in succession, and not sweeping a single one of those series.

For today's stinker, thank you Vlad and George.

Oh, I'd for sure say it says quite a bit about how bad this team's position players have been this year. Only two guys are even solidly 3 WAR players.

Double play then Varsho pop up. Sums up the season pretty well so far. 4-2 on this stretch is the bare minimum I expected so I'm glad they cleared that low bar.

The tie-breaker impacts makes the series huge.

If the Rangers take 2 out of 4 against the Jays in essence they gained one game on the Jays since they have the tiebraker.

If the Jays somehow take 3 out of 4 against the Rangers, they in essence gain 3 games on the Rangers because they will get the tiebreaker.

Of course 3 of 4 doesn't seem very realistic right now, but both teams are pretty meh right now.

My money is on the culture shift being the biggest culprit. Yeah, nobody was serious last year, but they looked like they were having fun in the dugout every game.

I get they wanted a more serious team, but the players they brought in aren't exactly world beaters on the field, so changing the culture without bringing in guys who can lead by example leads to this mess.

Rangers are probably worse than the A's right now, and we're playing at the level of a team like the Nationals.

It's going to be a true battle of the titans.

I still obviously want to get into the playoffs, but this season is so frustrating. Maybe we'll be the 2022 Phillies/Padres.

Imagine this offense without Davis Schneider.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."
