From what I've seen - which granted, isn't much - the team doesn't look confident, and there's little enthusiasm. And who can blame the players when the guys in charge keep making boneheaded decisions with no accountability. Who's desperate to pick the ear of Guillermo for hitting advice?
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Silly decision made by Varsho. Unexpected. Probably a case of trying to do / thinking of doing too much when your offence sucks.

I should also add that the organization is also run by cowards who won't actually demote this guy for real and continue to let this "rehab" stint go on indefinitely.

Question that you might now - On Rehab Manoah would get his full contract. If he gets demoted to the minors, since he is not yet arb-eligible, is there a two-way element to the contract... i.e. after demotion would he get paid less than the league minimum during the days he is in the minors.

He’d get paid a minor league salary and won’t incur service time, which is exactly what he and his agent don’t want and why the entire saga happened last year.

My guess is the Jays don’t want a repeat of that so they are too afraid to demote him.

Knew about service time, wasn't sure if his contract was guaranteed since it had been granted / negotiated at slightly above league minimum.

Regarding his service time, I noted that the super two arbitration eligible players were the following:
2024 - 2 yrs 119 days
2023 - 2 yrs 128 days

He was at 2 years, 63 days. So I guess he is now about 2 years, 91 days. Doesn't have much longer to go to be arb eligible.

Cant stop thinking about that scene from Moneyball with all the old guys and Billy Bean sitting around the table talking about their best player and how he hits the ball hard and has a great swing, and how good he is going to hit, and Bean just replies with "If hes supposed to be such a good hitter, then why doesnt he hit good?"

Thats pretty much the epitome of Bo and Vlad right now.

I don't know if he was out or not, but it was close enough to go for the challenge. And it's a crucial difference -- having a runner on first with 2 outs, instead of 1st and 3rd with one out is very different.

Way to go Johnnie.

Yes challenge that. Nobody needs a challenge if you’re down many runs
Pretty neat and on the fridge for the real fans:

Schneider continuing to show is ineptitude on a daily basis.

Not sure if the challenge would have been successful or not. But a success would have saved us 2 runs.
Not going for it was moronic.
Hip, Hip Hooray for Johnnie.

Our manager is a clown.

Every single day that passes this organization shows how much of a joke it is.

Time to trade the whole team and rebuild and get rid of the nerds in the front office.

The bottom half of this lineup is garbage. I laugh when i see people suggest that schneider or clement should bat in the top order.

Vladdy, will be batting at the Mendoza Line after this game is over. Bichette isn't too far either.

Something isn't right with this team. How can you have so many players struggling?? Like Lateral Quicks said, this team is lacking confidence, and there's little enthusiasm. Maybe they all hate playing for Schneider, Atkins and this coaching staff.

Opposing pitchers are licking their chops at facing us. We have nobody that can hit right now.

That Dodgers top 3 is unreal. I wish we had something as good as that. Sigh...

we can never have good things as Toronto Sports fans it seems. :(

I think them hating the GM,MGR,and HC is more than possible. It may come out ,after they are all gone, which cant be soon enough for me.
When Montoyo was fired,Bo said "good move" He was the only player to say something like that, and we made the playoffs that season.I didnt care that Bo was not criticized for saying what he did.
I wonder how many players are still pissed about the Berrios decision, and cant/dont want to speak out. They have had several playoff bonehead decisions that could have been made by the gm,s regardless of what was going to be happening at that moment.

This front office is still probably just so damn proud of their process that they believe the results are still gonna come for this group. Pathetic organization.
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.
