Nats swept the Red Sox at Fenway for their first series sweep of the year. They are also 4-2 in interleague play this year and will travel to Toronto to see if they can continue their streak.

Should be indeed a fun series! it will be interesting to see both Harper and Lawrie playing in the same game! Both guys obviously bring a ton of energy and are fun to watch!

Very impressed by the Nationals tonight. Didn't think they could hit. Then again, it was against a surprised bullpen.

Nats are my local team and my mom loves them. It's nice to see the Jays on TV here. FP is a great announcer.

So jealous we don't have Strasburg and Harper, you have 2 studs right there that are well worth a ticket. I know several people going to the game Wednesday just to see both of them, it's a 5 to 6 hour drive just to see one game.

I like the Nationals. They're nostalgic for the days of the Montreal Expos on CBC weekends.

Nats were extremely fortunate to be terrible on the years those two were entering the draft. I'm quite surprised the Nats have scored 6 runs tonight lol. Usually its hard for them to muster 3 or 4.

I was expecting a close game, myself. Morrow's early exit put you lot in position to take BP on a surprised team of relievers.

The Nationals should know that, as good as Zimmerman is on defense, Lawire's defense is the best in the game. His dWar is well ahead of every other 3B. In fact, he leads the majors in dWAR.

Well your team just swept the Red Sox and Blue Jays and are currently sitting in the division lead of the Braves by 4.5 games. I'm more jealous of your team now then I was 3 days ago.

Stephen Strasburg is first pitcher to 100 strikeouts this year

Stephen Strasburg tossed six innings of two-run ball in a series-sweeping victory over the Blue Jays this afternoon and in the process became the first pitcher this season to crack 100 strikeouts.

Justin Verlander is next up with 95 strikeouts, so he’ll likely join Strasburg in the triple-digit club when he starts tomorrow against the Cubs.

As for Strasburg, he’s 8-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 100/20 K/BB ratio in 77 innings this season, allowing just five homers and a .213 opponents’ batting average through 13 starts. He’s now made 30 total starts for his career–12 before Tommy John surgery and 18 after–and Strasburg is 14-5 with a 2.50 ERA and 216/39 K/BB ratio in 169 innings.

During that time his 11.5 strikeouts per nine innings leads all pitchers with 25-plus starts and no one else has more than 10.0. And his 5.54 strikeouts per walk is the third-best in baseball behind only Cliff Lee at 6.81 and Roy Halladay at 6.27, with no other pitcher above 4.75. Oh, and he doesn’t turn 24 years old until next month.

Outside observer but I think the Blue Jays need to make a move or two. They look like your middle of the road team that could probably contend in any other division but the AL East. I kept reading all offseason about how the Blue Jays were suppose to make this jump and I have yet to see it.

Good series though, and you guys suffered two potentially huge injuries. Best of luck to them both in the future.
