Rizzo with the first move of the offseason, he traded Robbie Ray, Ian Krol, and Steve Lombardozzi to Detroit for Doug Fister. Fister is under team control for 2 more seasons and by most accounts, the Nats got away with highway robbery here.

Also re-signed Ross Ohlendorf to a 1 year deal.

They still need a backup catcher, and a couple of left handers out of the bullpen. It sounds like Scott Hairston, Tyler Moore, and Danny Espinosa will be the bench.

Signed Nate McLouth to a 2 year/$10.5 million deal. I think it's a pretty good move, he'll be the fourth outfielder and will get playing time since Werth and Harper have trouble staying healthy. I just don't agree with the money, but it's not my money. $5 mil a year for a fourth outfielder is pretty expensive.

I also like the Fister trade. We've got four legit pitchers in the rotation, with Det coming back from injury and being the 5th guy. Pretty good rotation.

Looks like Matt Williams is going to play Ryan Z at first base for about 20-25 games. It's a little awkward b/c they are indirectly saying Adam won't be with the team after this upcoming season.

Nats trade OF prospect Billy Burns to the A's for left handed reliever Jerry Blevins. Nats get their left hander out of the bullpen, now all they need to do is get another bat for the bench and call it an offseason.

Yeah, it's really hard to get the baseball and football stuff off the ground since it's primarily a basketball site.

Jordan Z avoided arbitration and agreed to a 2 yr/$24 million deal. He'll get $7 mil this year and $16.5 next. It doesn't buy out any of his free agent years, they basically punted the decision to extend him another year or so.

Minor league deal for Luis Ayala who is probably going to crack the opening day roster.

Nathan Karns traded to the Tampa Bay Rays for Jose Lobaton. Lobaton will serve as the back up catcher. Word is the Nats are getting two minor league players who are in the top 30 in the Rays system.
