Well, here's the thing about this Chapman deal: the Yankees didn't really give anything of promise up to land him. Even if he gets suspended for, say, the first three months of the season, this team still has one of the best 8th-9th inning combos in the league. Once he gets back, it's lights out, no one is hitting this team in the last three innings.
What I truly believe is going to happen, though, is that this frees up Betances (who I really want to keep) to be dealt for some heat in the rotation. Especially because the top tier of prospects remained untouched in this deal.
Right. The Dodgers were going to give up Peraza for him. The Yankees gave up nothing close to Peraza for him.
Why would the Reds sell that low months before the season starts?
The Dodgers are the damned if you do, damned if you don't franchise.
If the Dodgers signed Cueto and Shark…LMFAO theyre trying to buy a championship again.
If the Dodgers reworked a deal for Aroldis…LMFAO at the classless FO and Friedman's propensity to acquire players of questionable character.
Pass on all the drama.
I'd rather folks talk about the lack of moves we've made as if it actually means the Dodgers don't have a good roster.
