Why do the mariners tend to have disappointing seasons after having good seasons

In 2004 they went 63-99 after being 93-69 in 2003

In 2008 they went 61-101 after being 88-74 in 2007 and for no reason as the future looked bright for Seattle entering the season, and were expected to win the division

In 2010 they went 61-101 after being 85-77 in 2009 and were expected to win the division

In 2015 they went 76-86 after being 87-75 in 2014 and were expected to improve on that record that year

and now a season removed from being 86-76 and starting season with very high expectations they are struggling again

it's very hard to sustain momentum year to year injuries and player regression are always factors look at this years Cubs team for an example

The M's won't be competitive for a while. So, it's not that big a deal in the grande scheme of things.

You're supposed to give my Astros all your best players in exchange for nothing so that we can win another WS. Get with the program, man!

I saw you guys are getting an NHL team? Nice! Now they need to give you the Sonics back. The NBA without the Seattle Supersonics is blasphemy.

Ballmer should just move the Clippers here.

Congrats to your Mariners Jack, nice comeback after being down 8-1. They're bringing a lot of momentum into the ALDS which is pretty scary considering how crazy postseason baseball is. It should be a really good series.

If it has to be anyone else I'd be pretty happy for Seattle if they end up going the distance.
