Oscar Gonzalez makes MLB history

With the Guardians improbable comeback in the 9th, they now lead the series against the Yankees 2-1. But what needs to be talked about here is Oscar Gonzalez, who is on an absolute tear right now in the post season.

This is now his third game winning hit/home run in this years post season run.

Oscar Gonzalez now joins the rare company of five other players in MLB history who have three game winners in the post season. That list is:

Pete Rose
David Ortiz
J.D. Drew
Carlos Correa
Cody Bellinger

Now here's what's so crazy about this: this is over the course of those players entire CAREERS.

Tonight's game (or technically yesterday's) was only the fifth playoff game Gonzalez ever played in. He is only 24 years old. This is his first season in the majors. The guy is a **** rookie for crying out loud. And he's already got three post season walk offs under his belt.

In other words, I don't know what kind of career this kid has ahead of him, but holy moly. If this is a sign of things to come... the Guardians could be a force for years to come with how good the rest of their young core is.

Also, any manager who doesn't tell their pitcher to walk this man when it's bottom of the ninth/extra innings and the game is on the line needs to be fired immediately from this point on.

Only David Ortiz did this in a single year and both had the same manager!

The Cleveland Lakers has a nice sound to it though. Plus they actually have lakes, unlike the other Lakers that stole their name from another state.
