Good afternoon, this dude is set for life! Now it's up to KC to continue to put play makers around him and keep contending year in / out.

He has all kinds of play makers around him going into next season, that's for sure.

He's only 24. He'll worth every penny. But man, haven't seen a 10 years extension in like forever.

$450 Upwards of $500 million :o

While Patrick Mahomes may have signed the most lucrative contract in NFL history, only $63 million in fully guarantee at signing and is a pay-as-you-go deal for the Kansas City Chiefs.

He’s 24 and already the best QB ever in terms of peak. For sure worth it. Chiefs are guaranteed to compete for the duration of his contract, outside of injuries, obviously.

The fact that he would qualify for another huge payday at the end of this contract blows my mind.

Or they renegotiate the deal after his guaranteed money has been paid out.

They also gave Chris Jones a big contract.

But they have a lot of money tied up to Frank Clark and Hill as well.

The players they're not really paying are the OL. Schartz and Fischer are both UFAs after next season. C and one of the Gs are free agents after this season, pretty underpaid.

They're going to have to get players drafted in the last couple of seasons and in the next couple of seasons to step into starter roles, because it will probably be hard to pay veteran starters market salaries.

Hitchens and Matthieu also have big cap numbers.

So their window is the 2 seasons before Mahome's extension kicks in, though his 2021 cap number is almost $25 million, then $31.5 million, then $42.5 million, etc.

They have to have young players ready to step in after 2022.

Not long. Just a couple pages back. Always nice to bring back when its the right time. I remember when a handful of posters said the Chiefs were done and wouldn't even win their division moving forward after the Hill trade and Mahomes got paid the big contract. Looks like it has worked out pretty good.

Turco has a big case of Mahomes envy.

Chris Jones is a FA after the SB.

Do the Chiefs give him another over $20 million a year contract?

Snead also is a FA so his salary will be in the $15-20 million range.

I believe Mahomes' cap number for next season is around $60 million.

After next season, Thuney is up for a new contract and there will also be a couple of other starters on defense who can become free agents. I think several of the WRs are also out of contract.

Gonna need BallUpandScore to comment otherwise this thread is pretty useless.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Now I understand why he claimed to have only pretended to have rooted for the Cowboys after they got eliminated from the playoffs.

It would have been very embarrassing if someone went and quoted those comments of bjj actually believing in his team, saying things like the curse had been lifted after the Jimmy Johnson Ring of Honor induction.

Other people just stand by what they said even if it turns out wrong.
