When he torpedoed Denver, I didn't think he'd get another shot. That was one of the worst coaching/gm jobs I've ever seen in such a short period.

Fun fact: During the 2009 draft, McDaniels traded a future 1st to Seattle for a 2nd round pick (DB Alphonso Smith). That pick later became Earl Thomas (2010). Smith only lasted one year in Denver. What a gem.

McDaniels likely won't ever get another head coaching job, but he'll still be getting paid like one.

At least $40 million left on his contract.

This is the definition of stupid rich money.

Davis never did anything in his life, inherited an NFL team and can literally burn that TV money.

This move should have happened last year. The debacle with Derek Carr should have been the writing on the wall that McDaniels isn't a HC. Honestly I don't know who is going to go next year and Coach this team. Maybe they take a look at a guy like Ben Johnson from The Lions or Brian Flores but I think they might stay away from former New England Patriots coaching staff after this unless that name is Bill Belichick.

Um the name that has been getting floated is Jim Harbrough(spelling?) From Michigan.

Next 2 games are HUGELY important for the Raiders. The oline/dline need to turn the corners & Tyree Wilson needs to unlock his hidden potential.

Jim Harbaugh would be a very good fit for the Raiders I doubt he wants to leave Michigan though especially considering he's getting upwards of 8 million a year to coach there

he's also wrapped up in a sign stealing scandal, so maybe its a good time to get out

but harbaugh has been a nfl coaching candidate for years, so this may not be any more serious than the rest

I think he's going to leave too. Saw somewhere that he might be interested in the Bears, that feels like a better fit for him than the Raiders.

If Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys flame out again in first or second round I would expect Harbaugh to be on Jerry’s list of coaching candidates. So the Raiders would have competition for Harbaugh.

As far as I know he really wanted to go to Vikings but their ownership changed their minds about him. His eye is definitely on NFL, as you said this scandal might be a good excuse for him to bail. Wouldnt be a bad hire either.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders make a run at Lincoln Riley
