Predict who wins MVP

Post#1 » by Dr Positivity » Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:56 pm

I can’t figure it out, I feel like Hurts status as current odds leader is just a placeholder.

I guess I’ll say Mahomes ends up with it by default by the end. If Stroud has a huge game against Jacksonville I might start leaning towards rookie MVP but I think Jax is going to take care of them. Dak is an interesting sleeper bet but I think if the Cowboys end at about 12-5 it’s not quite standout enough although the Matt Ryan year they were only 11-5. I put Tyreek on the poll instead of Tua despite the odds being friendly to the latter, it just doesn’t feel right that Tua would actually win instead of people crediting Dolphins league best offense to weapons.

Dont know how you can give it to Mahomes at this point, his defense has been carrying Chiefs so far.

Usually it goes to a quarterback of a team that occupies one of the top seeds, in that vein Hurts has to be the heavy favorite. CMC should get some love off chance Niners grab the top seed.

Hurts doesn’t have great numbers this year. The fact that the overall team is so good and Hurts doesn’t have great numbers might hurt his chances at the MVP. Dak, Purdy, or even Tua could easily win this award. All three are putting up great stats for winning teams.

I agree the final standings will likely determine it, but Hurts having a worse season than last year just makes it seem wrong to me and I think the offensive line shares too much credit for the tush push.

I voted Lamar but I think Tua is a possibility too if the Phins end strong.

Dak is more of an MVP candidate than Hurts if we're being honest. But I know we all like to hate on Dak for some reason.

But he's been way better than Hurts so far.

This is rarely about who is the best player

Team success heavily skews it. The last time a player who didnt play for a top seed won this award was 2016. And the last time a player who didnt play for a first round bye team(i.e top 2 seed old system) was 2012, that was when Adrian Peterson was handful of yards away from breaking the rushing yards record. So you either need to be the quarterback of a top seeded team, top two at worst, or you need to have a historical year of some sorts.

Maybe Hill's 2k or CMC having some sort of touchdown record would get them there but I doubt it. Theoretically Dak could end up as the top seed in NFC if you want to hitch your wagon to that lol

Honestly I would vote for Mahomes. Hate to sound cliche but I think they have a losing record without him

CMC should get it he's been flat out amazing this year 16 total TDS, 1300+ total yards and still has 6 games left.

I think right now it's down to Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes

I voted Dak but after Hurts' 5 TD clutch performance today, I'm not so sure.

How far off is Myles Garrett from being legitimately considered? He's having a monster year 13 sacks 4 forced fumbles abs 1 recovery. I think it's down to him and Parsons for DPOTY

But Parsons isn't even the DPOY favorite on his own team.

I think Parsons gets more votes than Bland. I get he's having a great year but when Diggs had 11 INTs and returned 2 for TDS he didn't get any real votes. Just looked at a few sites they have Garrett 1, Parsons 2, TJ Watt 3 then Nick Bosa Chris Jones, Crosby and Bland in the 4-8 range where they said Bland is the least likely of the next group

Diggs also gave up a lot of TDs that year, which Bland isn't doing.

Don't be silly now.

Only QBs can win MVP.

Parsons will be in the mix for DPOY (as will Garrett) but if the season ended today DaRon Bland is probably the DPOY.

I’m hoping that at least one ref played QB in pee wee football.
