Trade Ideas thread

Figured I would make a actual trade thread seeing as we never have one stickied where all ideas can go into.

Knicks want to dump Fournier and they have our first on lockdown stoping us from making trades.

They need a 3 level scorer like Bojan seeing as Randle and Brunson see so many double teams.

We need our picks free and a additional asset in case a star becomes available out of nowhere.

Fournier + Dallas protected 1st + Pistons 1st

Bojan

I believe Weaver traded away that pick with the ridiculous protections knowing he was going into a long rebuild to protect himself from Gores making another Blake Griffin like demand. But I think it is time to get that pick back to be able to make a big splash trade with multi FRP's going out. Maybe not time, but at least be able to be at the table if you want to be.

I think there is too much veteran shooting on the team as it stands which makes me believe Bojan will be moved in the mind of Weaver. Team has too much depth right now and not enough playing time for everybody - young'uns to develop and the veterans on expiring years will want to play to earn next contract.

Bulls just got a $10.2 million injured player exception so that would allow them to absorb the contract of Burks or Morris. I don't think we trade Burks or Morris to start this season, but as the season goes on if Sasser (and/or Hayes) end up being better than we hope and we can get an asset for Burks or Morris and at the same time create the rotation spot for one of the younger guys.

Of course, not sure that is how it will play out at all but its certainly possible.

We could also make two separate deals with them.

Patrick Williams + 2nd rounder for Burks + Morris

=======

Beyond that, I think Dallas will continue to be desperate for help to put around Luka because Luka wants out so I could see them offering us picks/swaps/assets to get Bojan and take back THJr.

The team as constructed is loaded with players, so at some point, a consolidation trade will happen.

The team is past the point of no return on that, so its all about guessing who goes out. We can't do that now, as I am of the belief that Monty wants to see the team in action, before any decisions are made, and has eluded to as much in interviews stating that "Team needs to play, 30 or 35 games to know what you've got."

The roster is deep, with playable guys. Long gone are the days of JaMarko, McGruder, and Hamptons.

One thing we can guess for certain, is that one guard, and one big will not be on the roster by the end of the season.

I’d probably do the Tobias Harris deals to consolidate, I’m not sold on the financial commitment to Hunter long term.

I’d love a deal where we get Patrick Williams.

Just not sure he can play PF long-term

Killian + Bogan
for
Lonzo Ball and Patrick Williams

That’s IF Lonzo Ball is seen as out of the league and it is a contract dump.

Killian and Bags need to be moved dont need Killian anymore with AT here he can run the offense on the bench unit with Burks, Wiseman, Livers, and Monte M.

I think Killian is done in Detroit but also think Weaver likes him some Bagley. And Cade and Bagley did show chemistry when they were healthy at the same time.

If I was to bet I think Hayes and Bojan will be packaged out. Though interested to see BB at the four with Auser and Duren just the same.

In other words they just wanted to unload their negative value players for Bojan and an expiring (sorry Killian, that's all you are).

I thought they'd at least offer a second or two. Lol.

I have a feeling nothing much is going to happen until the big names get sorted out in the trade market. Everyone is just waiting on Portland and Phili to move

I understand that Cade & Bagley had chemistry and it got me super excited for Bagley’s theoretical potential and I overlooked his luck luster defense & BB IQ.

However now that I consider everything, it seems like it was mostly a product of Bagley being the only vertical threat/ spacer.

Ya I still think a Tobias deal works for both teams. Gives Philly depth and gives us a new vet to teach the kids. Guys already learned from Burks and Bojan now they could learn from Morris, Harris and Tobias. Burks Bojan Bagley for Tobias baby! Gets us off the Bagley deal too
