I was talking style more than production, but seriously, if McAllister had elite explosiveness, it would be downright scary(or it would be Adrian Peterson).

Peterson is still a ROOKIE. As a rookie starting only 6/9* GAMES can you contemplate that stat line? I mean seriously he was leading the league in rushing by a fair margin.... averaging 6 yards per carry on a team that only knows how to run.

Unless Peterson comes back a shell of himself I would easily take him before Bush. Peterson is not only clearly the better runner, but at this point - he clearly can dominate a game on a more consistent basis than Reggie Bush, thus making him the better player. Peterson clearly does more with the ball when he gets it.

There hasn't been a player since Randy Moss who has dominated to this extent as a rookie on the offensive end.

KG-AI you point to Bush's team as a hindrance (reluctance to give him the ball), you have to concede that at the same time that takes pressure off of him.....

Reggie Bush through 25 games (16 starts) has just over 2k yards; Peterson through 9 games (6 starts) has 1.3k total yards.....

That's INSANE.

The only non-homeristic reason I can think of to label Bush the better player is Peterson's injury problem. Just to clarify to what extent I think Peterson outplays Bush - I think that currently the difference between the two is tantamount to the difference between Tracy Mcgrady and Josh Howard.

Even though, we disagree on alot of issues, im going to go with my boy NO on this. Im taking Bush, over Peterson. Not because I think Bush is more of a productive back, because to this point hes not. From the FO, to just looking at raw stats to this point Bush is way, way to up and down for my liking. Obviously, Peterson has done more, and has been more impressive, especially considering the worst QB situation in football. You can stack the box on this guy everytime, and he still runs wild.

But, Peterson's run style will have him out of the league in 5 years. Bush, even if he does not pan out. He will always be useful for whatever team he plays for. He reminds me of a rich mans Kevin Faulk, he can block, catch passes on 3rd downs, can put in as a WR, and be a nice return specialist, in other words...That guy every team needs, not great at one thing but has an all around player, capable of break a 60 yard run when ever.

indeed, the line has utterly collapsed. they are playing decently in the pass game, but we need serious help outside of Jammal Brown and Jahri Evans.

Maybe put them both on the same side and let Reggie run behind that side everytime

People also talk about Bush being the superior receiver, but imo AP isn't that shabby either.

Peterson. He has shown that he can carry an offense by himself. Reggie is best used with another powerback to compliment him.

Sorry, I am still not buying it and I have seen enough from Reggie Bush. He simply isn't ready to be a full-time tailback. Talented receiver, no doubt; but he doesn't impress me even when he gets decent blocking. At the moment, he's a Westbrook-lite and I'll give you that much.

I really like Reggie, has improved as a straight up the middle runner and is probably the most feared receiving back in the league but Peterson is just special. The guys patience in the backfield with that quickness and ability to burst through the middle for a big gain on what seems to be a stop is just amazing. I'd frankly take Peterson without even thinking.

Adrian Peterson reminds me of Bo Jackson. Except AP will probably play a full season, catches better, and seems to have better field vision.

I'd take AP over Bush.

Maybe Reggie should just improve his YPC before he tries to do all of that stuff. Gotta take it slow.

To be fair, the run blocking was FAR better in Minnesota.
