Stafford vs. Sanchez

So before the season we all heard about how Mark Sanchez was the better QB than Matt Stafford. But are they really that different?

Mark Sanchez- 188-348 54.0 comp% 2,381 yds 170.1 yds/gm 12 TDs 20 INTs 26 sacks 63.2 Rtg in 14 games.

Matt Stafford- 201-377 53.3 comp% 2,267 yds 226.7 yds/gm 13 TDs 20 INTs 24 sacks 61.0 Rtg in 10 games.

Their numbers are similiar but Sanchez has played 4 more games. Stafford has the better arm, throws for more yards a game. But Sanchez is slightly more efficient and has a better run game to help him out.

Are they really that different as rookies despite Sanchez' nice start of the season and Stafford getting injured twice?

All we heard before the season was that Sanchez was better? Stafford was taken before him for a reason. Nothing about Sanchez reminds me of a big time NFL QB.

Stafford was drafted #1 overall, but everyone said that the Lions should have traded down for Sanchez or taken Aaron Curry and start Culpepper all year. People expected Stafford to ride the pine for the first year, or at least until the Bye week. Everyone said that Sanchez was the better QB, was more NLF ready, would have a dynamic rookie season and after the first 5 games, that got even louder.

ok. now why didnt you bring all this out to begin with. instead of hiding behind all of those stats in your first post, you shouldve just said "I HATE MARK SANCHEZ! STAFFORD IS BETTER!"

that wouldve been better than beating around the bush.

because the facts are in, stafford was picked first for a reason. no one was saying sanchez was better. as a matter of fact, everyone was saying stafford was a lock #1 from the get go.

see, dont you feel better now?

I don't hate Sanchez although I know he's your boy, I read your posts in the Sanchez vs. Rogers thread.

People knew the Lions would take Stafford that's the only reason he was projected #1, and no one thought it was a lock until he signed the contract. People still thought the Lions could go after Curry or Jason Smith.

My point remains the same. Are they really that different? They are both rookies. Both made tons of mistakes. But both have bright futures. So what's the biggest difference between the two?

The biggest difference is that Stafford is better right now, younger, and he's a lot more talented.

Other than that, they are pretty much the same.

I love Stafford and like Sanchez. Stafford has all the talent in the world. He to me will be the better quarterback in the future but both will be good.

stafford because he did quite a bit with a far inferior overall team than what sanchez had.

Stafford will be a better passer, Sanchez a better Quarterback.

Finally get to see these two square off.

I find it interesting that Sanchez went from arguably the league MVP for Sept. and is now the lowest-rated passer in the AFC. Stafford getting just 6 quarters of action and has looked very good except the 1Q last week.
