It’s Kuzma’s team which probably pusses Poole off but Poole isn’t getting the job done. Apparently Poole is not the 2nd coming of Gilbert Arenas. Sorry DC .

I have never been a Poole fan and was happy GS got rid of him. I doubt he will earn this contract but the only possible way to get any value out of him is to make hima a sixth man and put him on a short leash. His ceiling is Jordan Clarkson but his floor is in the history books as a 1 year wonder.

Ya, or that the CP3 trade was bad. Even if you don't like CP3, turning the Poole Dumpsterfire into an expiring that can be traded this year or next year is one of the few reasons we still have a sliver of hope.

And I say all this as someone who used to support JP a lot here long ago. I watched some 2021-2022 tape recently, and while he was never a good defender, he tried more. He also didn't do nearly as much bonehead stuff. It's just mind blowing what he is now -- and I get he had a lot of flaws before, it's just all exaggerated to an absurd degree now, like a parody of himself.

He was playable in 2022. Wasn’t slipping and falling all over the court. Last year and this year has just been such a caricature. He really just let himself go after the title.

He wasn't *that* bad during the title run, but he was pretty bad the entire time. And while there wasn't a true primary POA defender for that super hot stretch to begin the year, Poole was POA defender more than Curry and Wiggins (when they all shared the court), and we still had an elite defense. Because the POA defender doesnt have to be great as long as they understand how and where to funnel

In close games, the team can always go back to having a great POA defender like Dray, Wiggins, or GP2.. but there's no need to do that all game. But we have

So fortunate we're out from under that deal. Tough time to be a Wizards fan.. they just need some kind of veteran leader who pushes back on Poole's laziness

They should just eat hte contract and bench him. Tell him to go home. They will still have a top pick but they can build the right culture. He was never going to be in the long term plans anyway. And it might be the best way to move him as well. Someone might talk themselves into believing that Poole can return to 2021-22 form if he isn't out there every night proving them wrong.
