The great thing is it saves Curry. He no longer needs to run around like a chicken with his head cut off to get a shot off. Saves a lot of energy. Everyone should be more fresh by the end of the year. The wasted motion offense is finally over.

We will see. We are hanging our hat on defense right now, but we still don't know how kerr will manage the minutes when cp3 gets back. Was klay sick or was podz just outplaying him in kerrs eyes? Can jk continue to get buckets? Can dray and wiggins continue to anchor the defense vs good teams? How will kerr mess up the rotations when everyone is healthy?

We are likely to see steph, klay, and cp3 playing big minutes again... together.

Podz, the connector.

And Klay was Klay

Him not playing the 4th was the only reason he didn't lead in minutes and shot attempts this game.

As an old Celtic fan, rookie Bird could barely say anything in interviews. 4th year Bird was saying interesting thoughtful things and giving good interviews.

At least he didn’t close either half. That’s a major improvement.

This is the most important thing. I care a lot less about him starting than I do about keeping him buried on the bench in crunchtime

And imo, a big reason we didn't get another clutch game.

Dray and wiggins made some defensive plays in the 4th and the offense will always take care of itself.

If jk is going to continue playing this well offensively, I really dont know what klays role will be moving forward.

We lose some shooting, but we are getting alot more rim pressure and transition offense.

This is true. The problem with him starting is that he plays a ton of minutes when his minutes should be lowered. But I’ll take this as a step in the right direction.

The defense to close each half was amazing. Really opens up the transition game and the offense. Klay really isn’t needed at all.

I want Klay to be 3rd option not 2nd option. I would still go to Klay when Kuminga is struggling and you must score against good defense.

Klay and Curry mess up opposing defensive assignments by running arround screens. Kuminga does not need screens or use screens. Klay scores from all over. Kuminga scores inside or short mid range or wide open corner 3s. Klay is a jump shooter. Kuminga is a slashing driver.

Kuminga does not change Klay’s role other than to change Klay from 2nd option to 3rd option and Kuminga pushes Wiggins to 4th option. Klay and Kuminga do different things and fit well together.

Cp3, steph, and klay with 30+ minutes each.
Moody dnp
Gp2 dnp

Kerr deserves some credit tonight. He pushed the right buttons.

There is zero chance jk finishes this game at the beginning of the year. He would have been pulled for his defensive lapses. But kerr let him play through it and jk rewarded him for it with a great offensive game.

Our offense also changed in the 4th. It wasn't totally reliant on the 3 ball. We mixed it up.

And the biggest adjustment of them all; klay not closing and trusting podz.
