With cp3 close to coming back, cojo was just an expensive (tax included) bench warmer. Good if warriors are really converting Q. He’s earned it with past week’s play.

Thank god Cojo is gone. If there's anything the Warriors don't need, it's another backup pg with two first names.

CoJo never made sense once CP3 was on the roster and Podz started well. Now Q is playing well and will likely take another roster spot. So CoJo became a salary dump. Smart move, but the Dubs got no major help at all today. They still need another big. I doubt they'll find a real difference maker on the scrap heap. So now we wait for CP3 and Klay's deals to expire or do S&T's in the off season. I think the word for all this is underwhelming. At least MDJ didn't do anything stupid that would have cost a lot and not moved the needle.

The main objective for the rest of us he season should be playing the young guys just enough to not fall into the top 4 of the draft so it conveys to Portland.

That's what this wannabe elite sad sack excuse of an organization is essentially doing. Wasting some of the prime years of one of the best players of all time with woeful management.

Management has been planning for after Steph since 2020. Still doing it in 2024.

Correct move. I don't really see anyone out there that would contribute that is attainable worth trading for and there is plenty of talent as is on this team. Trading Klay and CP3 may make sense objectively but would undermine the relationship with Steph and just looks bad for the team overall.

Another deadline come and gone where well-run teams manage to make small but meaningful moves to improve while we sit on our hands.

Cue the pivot to "the offseason is when we're really gonna cook"

Yeah.

I'm truly in shock. If there was one team that needed to make a trade, if there was one team that had the assets to do it, it was the Warriors. And they did nothing. Nothing. They've just waived the white flag on the season. I doubt they even make the play in now. Meanwhile, they have this generational talent who soon will be 36 and they're not even giving him a chance to compete. They don't care. It's all about trying to save money now.

Watch this team if you must. This season is gone and what would make anyone think next year will be any different?

Brilliant logic. Instead of doing things that may look bad, it's better to just be bad.

not true, we dont want to give up JK and we dont want to get anyone who can help Curry. This will not end well.

OK, so MDJ made a move, therefore, ipso facto, this thread is stupid.

MDJ saved ownership millions in luxury tax. Winning trade deadline. Too bad MDJ can't shave 30mil or 45mil guys.

Is it possible that no one wanted to give up a good player for a big expiring?

My biggest fear in this failure to change the roster is the return of Chris Paul, meaning the return of Kerr's favorite Klay/Steph/Paul no-D reunion tour lineups. Plus many more careless Saric turnovers to enjoy this season.

I have the completely opposite take. I think that nobody in the NBA wanted what the Dubs had to offer. If they were willing to trade anyone except Steph and maybe JK, I think that they got no takers, at least from anyone who didn't want to give back a ton of bad LT contracts.

For now, I guess we see if they can add some big who gets waived and see if Wiggs and Klay and Dray and GP2 can rise to the occasion in the playoffs (which I'm still assuming they make.) Then we see what happens with CP3's and Klay's and JK's contracts after the season.

But I honestly think that nobody wanted Klay's or CP3's expirings, and nobody wanted to give more than a bag of chips for Wiggs. And I'm glad they didn't trade the young guys for someone who wouldn't move the needle anyway.
