Smart move, but the Dubs got no major help at all today. They still need another big. I doubt they'll find a real difference maker on the scrap heap. So now we wait for CP3 and Klay's deals to expire or do S&T's in the off season. I think the word for all this is underwhelming. At least MDJ didn't do anything stupid that would have cost a lot and not moved the needle.
It took me some time to trust in Podz as the 3rd string point guard. I trust in Podz now but I would not want CoJo gone before I trusted Podz.

I have the completely opposite take. I think that nobody in the NBA wanted what the Dubs had to offer. If they were willing to trade anyone except Steph and maybe JK, I think that they got no takers, at least from anyone who didn't want to give back a ton of bad LT contracts.
For now, I guess we see if they can add some big who gets waived and see if Wiggs and Klay and Dray and GP2 can rise to the occasion in the playoffs (which I'm still assuming they make.) Then we see what happens with CP3's and Klay's and JK's contracts after the season.
But I honestly think that nobody wanted Klay's or CP3's expirings, and nobody wanted to give more than a bag of chips for Wiggs. And I'm glad they didn't trade the young guys for someone who wouldn't move the needle anyway.
Trading for Steph is almost impossible.
JK is useful now so trading JK is not a move for trading JK’s for somebody better than JK now. JK is so good now that we may need a top 10 player back for JK; somebody better than Siakam or 2 Siakan level players for JK, Chris Paul and draft picks.

That would have been a terrible pick, and sadly it still would have been better than our pick.

Re: Thoughts on if Dunleavy Jr DOESN'T make a move?
- First move this summer is letting Klay walk.
- Second is going for a super star or impact player. HIgher end of the scale is probably a Paul George or Lauri Markennan.
- If there are no impact players, see if any team wants CP3 in a sign and trade where the Warriors get assets and no salaries.
- Now that they're out of the luxury tax, see what is out on the market that could be available for the MLE and/or bi annual. Some players that could be available are like Plumlee, Goga, Lonnie Walker, Gordon Hayward, etc. Yes, the free agent market sucks.
- Decide what if you want to guarantee Looney's contract depending on if TJD is ready to start or what you get in free agency.
- Pray that Kuminga looks like a second option.
That's really what Dunleavy should be doing this summer.

eh he would help a lot. 6'11'' forward who can guard up and down the lineup. Can dribble, pass, shoot (?) and is a good defender. There are a lot of bad picks in that draft. Deni is definitely not the worst.

Deni is sort of the perfect forward archetype to pair with Kuminga/Podz/Moody.

He's very similar to Franz, just took a bit longer to break out. Franz is a better help defender while Deni might be a better poa defender. I've been saying that's the exact archetype that we need though.
Curry/JK/Wiggins/Deni/Dray. We're actually really big across the board outside of Dray. Everyone can dribble pass, shoot (JK, Deni and Dray obviously not great but can at least hit an open shot). We just have 1 defender not knowing where to go in JK, but we've proven we can hide that. Defense would be elite, rebounding would be good, we'd have so much versatility.

Couldn't we just get somebody like Jerami Grant as long as Lacob is willing to pay the tax?

I much prefer Deni to Grant.
Grant and Kuminga at the forward spots is pairing two very high usage players that dont rebound exceptionally well. Not the worst pairing due to Grant catch and shoot ability... but Deni is a much lower usage glue guy / secondary playmaker. Thats what we need in a forward next to Podz/Kuminga.

Right on. I forgot Grant isn't a good rebounder. But I guess I just don't believe in Deni's recent shooting.

Ya still small sample size with that. And if he ends up being someone like Kuminga that isn't a threat to shoot, then someone like Grant could be more beneficial for sure.
