Name that Line-Up

Post#1 » by ssssssnake » Fri May 25, 2007 3:19 am

1. Gwynn
2. Weeks
3. Hardy
4. Fielder
5. Hall
6. Estrada
7. Braun
8. Hart

Then you rest you infielders by rotating Councell and Graffanino and you rest your outfielders by rotating Mench and Jenkins.

As far as pitchers go, I think we should bring up Capellan to solidify the pen and then I think we're good.

No way should Gwynn be starting over Jenkins, especially when he's producing at the level he is.

Weeks
Hardy
Fielder
Hall
Jenkins
Braun
Estrada
Hart/Gwynn (mainly Hart though)

The most important thing is that we don't see a lot of Mench, Councell and Graffanino.

Weeks
Estrada
Hardy
Fielder
Hall
Braun
Jenkins (Gwynn against left handed pitching)
Hart (Gwynn from time to time)

I don't mind something like that either and then you platoon Gwynn in every other game or so flopping between Hart and Jenkins.

Gwynn
Weeks
Hardy
Fielder
Braun
Hall
Jenkins
Estrada
Pitcher

Edit: I used that lineup in mlb 2k6, simmed it and the brewers won the world series. :D

Edit again: I actually had to trade Jenkins to get Suppan so I put Hart in his place. But at this moment in time Hart hasn't shown me anything much so I would be reluctant to start him everyday.

Gwynn
Hardy
Braun
Fielder
Hall
Weeks
Jenks
Estrada

Weeks
Hardy
Braun
Fielder
Hall
Jenks (or Shrek or Gross for spot starting)
Estrada
Hart

EDIT: I know a little (Please Use More Appropriate Word) with Weeks leading off in one lineup and dropping to 6 in another.

Ewwww

No way in hell i'd ever bat Estrada in the two spot, the guy is alergic to taking walks and doesn't get on base enough to bat high in the order.

With Braun up,i'd move Estrada down to the seven slot.

VS Righties

Weeks
Hardy
Fielder
Hall
Jenkins
Braun
Estrada
Gwynn/Hart splitting time

VS Lefties

Weeks
Hardy
Fielder
Hall
Braun
Mench
Estrada
Hart

Wow I've seen Weeks and Hall put in the 2 spot. That'd be terrible.

I understand Hall being terrible in the 2 spot, but why Weeks? He could bring power and speed to that spot and possibly get Gwynn over to third base at least with the big boppers coming up. I think that would work out.

If the leadoff guy gets on I want a contact hitter at #2 so he can move him over instead of striking out. Both Weeks and Hall strike out a lot.

Yeah, true. So I'm guessing you are on board with Braun batting in the 2nd spot besides the 5 spot where he could drive in more runs? Or would you keep Hardy at the two spot?

I'm fine with Braun batting 2nd. The only other player I'd want batting 2nd is Hardy and I'd like to keep him in the 3 spot until/if he cools off.

What I can't stand is Estrada in the 5 spot. TAKE A DAMN PITCH!

You have a pretty good record for only having a 7 man lineup  I know I'm such a smart-ass..I like that lineup, just put in Jenkins between Hall and Estrada.
