Langworthy, who met with Trump in Manhattan on Monday, said the billionaire is "doing all due diligence" as he considers making an offer to purchase the franchise. The acquisition would be close to $1 billion, Langworthy said, although it's unclear at this point if Trump would work by himself or with an ownership group to make a bid.

According to Langworthy, Trump has no interest in moving the Bills to another location after the team's current lease expires.

Tim Leiweke, CEO of MLSE, confirmed to the Toronto Star last November -- after an initial report by CBS Sports -- that Bon Jovi was part of a Toronto group seeking an NFL team, with MLSE's backing.

"Jon and I are very good friends," Leiweke told the Star. "We talk weekly about his NFL ambitions. And so we're actively engaged, but I think it's still a work in progress."

Founding Bills owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. was still alive at that time. But Wilson died two weeks ago, and the Bills last week confirmed the long-held belief that Wilson's survivors will sell the team.

But that in itself tells you why these are probably fake rumors. Any purchase would need to be approved by NFL. NFL is pretty conservative group. Why associated themselves with the clown that is Trump + his 10+ bankruptcies?
