You're right, this is worse.
The team was better in 2004. That team had a better record

doesn't matter what the record was... you'd call 2003 a better season than '04 but the cubs had a better record in '04... fact of the matter is that they are in first place and are playing well right now, where as in '04 they played like **** the last 3 weeks

Last time I checked the Cubs were losing to the 4th place Reds. They are only in first place because our division is the worst in baseball.

last years 1st place team did win the WS... w/ a worse record, it doesn't matter how you get into the playoffs, just get in

it's baseball, you can't expect them to win every game... if they win 2 out of 3 i'm perfectly satisfied w/ that

man... all of this negativity towards a team that will have most likely improved about 17 games over one season.... wow us cubs fans are spoiled w/ all our successes.

No kidding, I've pretty much stopped coming around here after a loss because the self-loathing is disgusting.

Support your team and shut the hell up, especially this time of the year.

I know... one game after the biggest and most important comeback of the year... where everyone is printing their playoff tix and pronouncing the cubs nl central champs, they lose a game and everyone acts like its the **** apacolypse.... its like they expect the cubs to win every single one of their remaining games...

I hated 04. I protested the month of August and didn't watch a game. Won a Bears ticket out of it. Anywho, this year isn't like 04. In 04 I had a good dozen or so players I hated but cheered for. This year the number is down to like.... 2 or 3. maybe 4.

bump.
Cubs losing 4-0 to the Marlins with 6 games left.
Brewers winning 1-0.
Lead is about to be cut down to 2 with 5 games left.
Looks like we will have to clinch in Cincy.
Remember who ended our playoff chances in 2004?
