“To stretch it out past free agency would be disrespectful to the organization … and that 100% will not happen.”

-Aaron Rodgers
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

The only thing I can think of is that the Jets and Packers are having a stare down over who is paying what portion of Rodgers contract

Not happening. Both teams likely agreed on the trade compensation days ago knowing that these other QBs would sign elsewhere today. because the Jets weren't going after any of them.

For the Packers to rip up up the deal and hold the Jets hostage now, no team would ever want to negotiate with GB again as that would be a real scumbag move.

All world HOF QBs for the same franchise that ponder retirement more with each gray hair, both playing for the Packers for a long long time, who had their replacements drafted with late first round picks who need a couple of years of development before they are ready to start. Yeah, simply laughable to compare. C'mon guys, what are we doing here?

Sure, but at 2 feet away, that's what it looks like.

How things have played out and if he does ends up with the Jets the similarities will be almost comical.

But specific to where things stood when they made the Love and Rodgers picks I think there was absolutely a difference.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

The specific situations are only similar from a casual hot take perspective; something the Stephen A. Smiths of the world would drool over.

The similarities end abruptly with the application of the slightest scrutiny and nuance. The team's competitive position was diametrically different in 2005 vs. 2020, which is the most important difference.

He is saying it's done which is a different and important distinction. "Basically done" is what we've been going off of for days now.

It will be interesting to see who the backup will be.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Well, it's not like it is "Decision" by LeBron James that he was a FA and controlled everything, maybe Rodgers already let Jets/Packers know and they are just finalizing the final details (picks, contract and players involved), so maybe, I said maybe, it's not only Rodgers' fault.

Sorry for the mistake big shooter. I was just going off the exact words of my buddy who follows Trey Wingo, I don't follow him. Please accept my sincere apology.

FYI The 2005 Packers were a double-digit win team fresh off a division title when they drafted Rodgers that summer. Favre was also coming off a really good season. Some of you guys have your years mixed up. Either that or you're disingenuously arguing in hindsight based on them going 4-12 the next season. The situations were/are pretty damn similar.
